logo project
Our concept for the Easton Area Chamber of Commerce logo was to incorporate important elements of Easton. Therefore we used the Free Bridge that leads into Phillipsburg, NJ. The color concept originates from the colors that represent Easton(black, red).
magazine cover
For my magazine cover i chose to go with a simplistic feel, similar to time magazine. The black and white photo would make it stand out against other magazine covers on the rack today because most magazines are so busy and usually are filled with text and color photos. I also wanted to make the magazine title and all the heading in red so they would stand out against the dark background and it would give good contrast to the entire cover. Bob Marley stood out in my mind when we started this project because his music has with out a doubt stood the test of time and has become even more popular over the past few years.
time in place
i chose to do this photo of The Breakfast Club because it is my favorite 80s movie. i made myself as Molly Ringwald not only because she stands out the most but because she is my favorite character in the movie. She comes off as a shallow rich girl but shes really a normal person with her own insecurities. I like this movie because although ever character is so different they all found out what makes each one of them so unique and how similar they actually are.this was a difficult and tedious project but it was still fun to make.
dream scape
I based my dream-scape project on the pull between summer and fall this year. I went for a more dramatic approach with the large sun and moon at either ends and the tree growing into both of them. I placed flowers on one end to represent summer and bright colors, along with the green grass and the little girl smelling a fresh flower. On the other end i kept it mostly black and white for a colder feel and fall colored leaves scattered on the tree. The little boy was placed to balance out the girl on the other end and to show different things that people associate with these seasons.
mayfair
I chose to do a mid-evil theme for this poster because of the description given on the mayfair website. It described the setting of the fair with wondering minstrels and tents with different activities and types of food. I thought the court jester would add a fun feel to the poster and give it some extra color. I chose to give it a old paper texture background to again go with the old mid-evil theme.
iconic symbol
The Macintosh Apple is a iconic symbol in todays world. It represents a company that has revolutionized technological advancements. The apple is so widely known that when people think of an apple today it's the mac apple that comes to their mind when years before an apple meant New York; "the big apple". Even people who did not grow up with computers can associate the apple with computer technology. the apple symbol has changed to adapt to the current style, when they went from the simple one dimensional rainbow colors which was popular a decade ago to the sleek three dimensional white color it is today.

The Cube Houses in Rotterdam(Netherlands), are a set of oddly constructed houses built by architect Piet Blom in 1984. This strange row of all connected houses is on Overblaak Street beside the Blaak Subway Station. The idea behind the construction of the cube houses was to have the cubes sitting on the hexagonal pillars to seem like trees. The tree like design was meant to bring a forest like feel to a very urban area. The Houses sit at a 45 degree angle on top of hexagonal pillars. The entire building consists of 38 small cubes. Each house has a ground floor entrance, first floor living room, and an open kitchen. The second floor has two bedrooms and a bathroom. The last floor, or top floor, is another living area. All of the walls and windows are angled at 54.7 degrees and the total area is about 100 meters; however, about a quarter of this space is unusable because of the walls located under the angles ceilings.
